  Thanks for the comments, all. As far as the movie Avatar - the supposed Hindu connection aleady mentioned in this thread is what made it "bad." From my discussions with an elder and a regular pioneer I think everyone is going to ignore that one. Both rolled their eyes as if to say "gimme me a break."

  Pitchess, in my many years in, I used to see brothers anxious to be promoted. But, now, if the brother is under 25, they really don't care and don't want the hassle. And if they're middle-aged they're burnt out or just trying to duck the headaches that come with the title. There are some that still get excited but it more an exception than the norm.

  Anony, it is a real eye opener how much the CO is policing congregation book and tract inventory. I've seen it given much attention.

  Avatar the movie is based on hinduism and is not approriate for Christians.
  Your children have no rights to any privacy at home.
  "we have nothing against education. But please don't send your
  children away for school" (this was suprisingly reasonable....)
  One college story he gave was of a professor who disrobed in front of
  his business class. That's the immoral college environment!!

  On the needs of the circuit: for the past 2 years there have been only
  6 Elders and 1 MS appointed. Every brother should be reaching out.

  i had a bible study with jehovah's witnesses and i stopped the studies with them a couple of years back.

  I guess we could alter the image slightly. Like faintly super impose the image of shattered glass. We could set up a trust and do it through the trust so that no one has any personal liability.....Throwing these ideas out.....

  sd-7, the 1984 cover would work too. either way, it would the DC higher-ups in an interesting position of having to hide or purposefully igone their own literature.

  Again, having no commentary on the photo is what I think would work best. As soon as you alter it, you give everybody an easy out.

  I wonder about fair use, also. Maybe we could have someone knowledgeable advise on this? I'm sure there is some leeway to allow for commentary...Especially since the art work used is over 40 years old.

  I like it since many do not know the history of these predictions. I realized this when I talked to someone was converted during the past 10 years. They had no clue about the 1914 generation dying off and what it was supposed to mean. As a born in, I forget that's possible if you came on board after 1995.

  I am still an active witness. They do not drape over ads. Probably they got into trouble with management, since their advertisers would want a refund - I would think....

  Maybe we can arrange to have it so that it is too high to block. Or if someone tries to block it, we can complain to to management that "our ad is being tampered with."
